Bioethics Committee

The Bioethics Committee is an independent expert body whose activities are aimed at ensuring compliance with ethical principles when conducting research involving people, using personal data and/or cells/tissues obtained from a person, and in the further dissemination of research results.

Recognition of individual autonomy and non-harm to research subjects

Competence

Objectivity

Independence from political, administrative, managerial and financial-economic influences

The Bioethics Committee conducts high-quality, independent ethical and legal reviews of scientific research projects to protect the rights and freedoms of research participants.

The activities of the Bioethics Committee are based on the fundamental documents of the Russian Federation and international principles of scientific research ethics:

• Constitution of the Russian Federation
• Declaration of Helsinki of the World Medical Association
• Federal Law "On Personal Data" of July 27, 2006, No. 152-FZ
• Order of the Higher Attestation Commission "On the Procedure for Conducting Biomedical Research on Human Subjects"
• WHO and EU GCP recommendations for ethics committees reviewing biomedical research
• Recommendations of the Steering Committee on Bioethics of the Council of Europe for members of ethics committees
  etc.

Regulations on the Bioethics Committee

To ensure confidentiality and avoid pressure on members of the Bioethics Committee, meetings are held without inviting applicants, and expert opinions are anonymized.
