A modern campus will be built on the Sirius federal territory. This large-scale project was among the winners of a competition announced by the Ministry of Education and Science. Nine of the top applications were selected from 39. The project is scheduled to be completed over seven years, from 2023 to 2030.
The Sirius Science and Technology Campus is a comprehensive research and educational center with a comfortable urban environment for study, work, leisure, and a fulfilling life. It will house a student residential complex, a university school, a university medical clinic, an academic building, rental housing for university staff and residents of the Innovative Science and Technology Center, and a modern laboratory complex for Sirius University.
The adjacent territory will include venues for outdoor events and exhibition spaces for young artists and sculptors. The infrastructure for public services within walking distance is also planned. The campus will be seamlessly integrated into the urban environment formed by Olympic heritage sites, natural parks, and an innovative science and technology center. One of the campus's key facilities will be a student residential quarter designed for 8,050 people.
Today, Sirius University implements projects in genomics, immunobiology, biotechnology, neurobiology, gene therapy, plant genome editing, robotics, and clinical psychology. Under the leadership of leading Russian scientists, 17 research and educational departments have been established, jointly implementing interdisciplinary educational programs and research projects aimed at improving the quality of life.
In October 2022, the University completed construction of the first phase of a large-scale, modern laboratory complex, the entire infrastructure of which is used for educational programs training gifted youth. Construction of the second phase of the complex is currently nearing completion. It will include over 100 additional laboratory spaces.
Student campuses are being built at the behest of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Currently, 24 such campuses are being designed and built in Russia with the support of the national project "Youth and Children."
